Issue/Introduction

This article provides instructions to resolve the AwE-5012 File Read Error that occurs when attempting to open output files generated prior to an Applications Manager upgrade.

Symptoms

• Users are unable to open output files for jobs or Process Flows that were generated before a recent system upgrade.
• The following error message is displayed: AwE-5012 File Read Error.

Environment

Cause

he error occurs because the pre-upgrade $AW_HOME directory was deleted or moved during the upgrade process. As a result, the new installation cannot locate the historic output files required for these jobs.

Resolution

1. Verify the path of the original $AW_HOME directory used before the upgrade or if the output file exists.
2. If the directory was deleted or moved, restore the $AW_HOME directory from a valid backup to the original file path.
3. Ensure that the new Applications Manager instance has the appropriate read/write permissions for this restored directory.
4. Attempt to open the output file again within the Applications Manager interface.
