Move runtime from TEST to PROD

Issue/Introduction

After upgrade CA 2E from 8.7 to 8.7.4 on TEST install, you would need to refresh the runtime on the TEST install and then move it to PROD install. Sometimes CA 2E administrator does not want to change the existing runtime on the PROD install but would still want PROD install run at 8.7.4 level. This article gives a method for "upgrade" PROD install run time without changing the existing runtime.

Environment

• CA 2E 8.7.4 upgraded from 8.7

Resolution

1. Follow installation steps up to and finish step 8 on TEST install.
2. Before step 9, create a new library
   CRTLIB LIB(P874MDL)
3. Perform step 9 as
   YDUPAPPOBJ LIB(P874MDL)
4. Move this library P874MDL from TEST install to PROD install.
5. Edit the library list on PROD install placing P874MDL before existing runtime library
