Issue/Introduction

VMware Usage Meter generates an automated summary of customer status and alerts. This email notification service provides visibility into the health of connected agents. Review the details below to understand the conditions under which these emails are generated.

Environment

VCF Usage Meter 9.x

Cause

The 'Summary of Usage Meter Statuses' digest is sent only when a tenant has agents in an error or alert state. The system ignores agents that are healthy or in an 'unknown' state. If no errors are detected during the daily check, the system will not send an email."

Resolution

To verify the health of the Usage Meter environment and confirm that the system is operating normally, perform the following steps:

1. Log into the Usage Meter Web UI.
2. Navigate to the Cloud > vCenter tab.
3. Confirm that the status for all registered vCenter instances is Connected.
4. Click the Notifications icon in the Usage Meter Web UI.
5. Validate that recent uploads are successful by identifying the message: "Successfully uploaded product consumption data to VCF Business Service Console."

If the system indicates all connections are healthy and uploads are successful, the absence of an email confirms the environment is currently operating without active alerts.
