Issue/Introduction

Issue:

The customer wants to set one day the expiration date when he is using to temporary datasets of output tape.
Is there any option?

Could you please tell me your advice?

Resolution

You can use WRKFLS=NO and restart the TMSINIT.

Use the WRKFLS parameter to determines whether work files may be created.
A work file is either a temporary data set, or a data set created with an expiration date
the same as the current date, or a retention period of zero.

The CTAPOPTN(TMOOPTxx) WRKFLS parameter has the following options:
YES:(Default) Work files are allowed to be created, and are eligible for reuse as a scratch tape immediately.
NO :One day is added to the expiration date, and the tape may not be used in a subsequent output request until
    it is processed by TMSCLEAN. NO in the system options member TMOOPTxx in hlq.CTAPOPTN activates this option.
