ISPT034 error when running customized Gen Application Construction Install

Issue/Introduction

The ISPT034 error message was issued from ISPF while running a customized Gen Install to link-edit an application module:

ISPT034

Table is not open
TBSORT issued for table TICSTPL that is not open

Resolution

Using TSO %TIUDEBUG set debug to Y for CLIST trace and identify the statement causing the error message. A customized CLIST module was identified as having syntax errors.

When the CLIST customizations were made on a laptop computer and were later uploaded to the mainframe a translation error occurred. In the upload the "not" char (¬) translated to three characters. Scans on Gen libraries revealed customized Panels and customized Skeletons were also in error.
