Endpoint Security Agent Remains After Carbon Black Cloud 4.2 Console Uninstall

Issue/Introduction

When uninstalling the Carbon Black Cloud 4.2 sensor via the Carbon Black Cloud console, the 'Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint' application is successfully removed. However, an entry for Endpoint Security Agent remains in Programs and Features , and the agent UI will appear blank (unless another ESA product, such as Symantec Cloud SWG, is currently installed)

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud: Sensor Version 4.2
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Resolution

This is a known limitation with the 4.2 release. After uninstalling from the console, the Endpoint Security Agent can be manually uninstalled via Programs and Features (or Apps & features) to completely remove the entry.
