Discrepancy in Role Visibility between Hub Header User View and Roles and Permissions

Issue/Introduction

You observe that the number of roles displayed in the Hub header user view is significantly lower than the list of role bindings found in the "Roles and Permissions" view. Roles mapped to specific organizations or groups may appear missing in the header, even though they are correctly configured and visible in the main permissions section.

Cause

This is intended behavior by design. While both the Hub header user view and the "Roles and Permissions" section retrieve role binding data from the same source, the Hub header user view applies a filtering logic that is restricted to roles with a "Global" scope. Roles that are not defined as "Global" are automatically filtered out from the header view, though they remain active and fully functional within the system.

Resolution

No action is required to resolve this discrepancy as it is a standard feature of the Hub UI designed to surface only globally scoped roles in the header.

To verify all assigned roles for a user, please utilize the Roles and Permissions view. This section serves as the comprehensive source of truth for all role bindings, regardless of their scope. If a role is present in "Roles and Permissions" but absent in the Hub header, it is functioning correctly and is simply not globally scoped.
