Error: Unable to Configure RTEP in NSX 9.x due to IP Pool Allocation Mismatch

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to configure Remote Tunnel Endpoints (RTEP) on an NSX 9.x Manager, the process fails even when using a Static IP or an IP Pool that appears to have sufficient capacity. The system may report that the IP pool has zero allocations, or the error logs may reference a UUID that points to a different, fully allocated IP pool. 

Symptoms:

• The configuration of RTEP fails on the NSX Manager.
• Error messages report "Not enough IP address available in the given ip pool" for the selected IP pool.

• IP pool UUIDs in logs point to different, exhausted IP pool. The configured IP pool for RTEP remains not allocated 
• Configuration fails despite the selection of a valid Static IP.

Environment

• VMware NSX 9.x
• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)

Resolution

If you come across this issue, collect NSX Managers Support bundle and  Contact Support

 

Workaround:

1. Verify the IP pool capacity in the NSX Manager UI by navigating to Networking > IP Address Pools.
2. If the IP pool shows zero available addresses, extend the capacity of the configured IP pool to ensure IP addresses are available for allocation.
3. Ensure that the IP pool ranges do not overlap with other active pools.
