vSphere Supervisor version 1.33 update option missing on vCenter Server 8.0 Update 3h

Issue/Introduction

• Administrators are unable to update the vSphere Supervisor to supported version 1.33, and the update option is entirely missing or unavailable within the vSphere Client. This issue is typically observed when attempting to upgrade the Supervisor to maintain compatibility.

Environment

• VMware vSphere Kubernetes Service
• VMware vCenter Server

Cause

• The vSphere Supervisor version 1.33+ is only introduced and made available starting with vCenter Server 8.0 Update 3j. Environments running vCenter Server 8.0 Update 3h or earlier do not contain the necessary payload to offer the vSphere Supervisor v1.33 update option.

Resolution

 

1. Plan and execute an update of the vCenter Server appliance to version 8.0 Update 3j build 25413364 or a newer supported release.

2. Once the vCenter Server update is successfully completed, log in to the vSphere Client.

3. Navigate to Workload Management and proceed with updating the vSphere Supervisor to version 1.33.
