Pre-Check API Error "NSX pre-upgrade check failed - NSX precheck API execution failed" during the upgrade of NSX from 4.2 to 9.1

Issue/Introduction

During an upgrade of NSX from version 4.2 to 9.1 through VCF Lifecycle there is an NSX API Precheck error:

NSX pre-upgrade check failed / NSX precheck API execution failed

Environment

VCF 9.1

VCF 9.0

NSX 4.2

Cause

This error is related to the issue described in KB418592 where unpromoted NSX objects or stale configuration entries prevent the Upgrade Coordinator from successfully completing pre-upgrade checks.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow the instructions within KB418592 to promote the NSX objects.
