Cause

Compliance Event Manager leaves certain controls blocks in memory at shutdown. An IPL is the only way to remove these control blocks. If CEM V7 is started while these V6 control blocks remain in memory, the product does not function correctly, leading to various issues.

Resolution

An IPL must always be done when upgrading from different Compliance Event Manager (CEM) releases. E.g V6 to V7.

Additional Information

 To ensure a successful upgrade, prevent the R6 Router and other R6 tasks from starting automatically after the IPL. Verify that only CEM V7 tasks are active.
