Issue/Introduction

  • Unable to delete organizations in VCD via the Migration Tool UI.

  • Error message: "Unable to delete Org <org_name>. The organization must be in the COMPLETED OR DELETE_FAILED state."

  • Workload migration rollbacks fail with the error: "ROLLBACK_NOT_SUPPORTED_FOR_COMMIT".

  • Stale migration data persists in the Migration Tool even after uninstalling and reinstalling the tool.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.1

Cause

When a workload migration reaches the "Commit" phase, the migration state is finalized, rendering the rollback functionality unavailable.

Additionally, interrupted migration attempts may leave organizations flagged with a migrationStatus in VCD, preventing deletion and causing the organization to reappear as "locked" even if the Migrator connection is re-established.

Resolution

Once the Commit module is acknowledged the Migration can no longer be rolled back.
