Issue/Introduction

What impact does increasing the STATIME_DDF zPARM in DB2 from 60 seconds to 120 seconds have on the collection and reporting frequency of IFCID 365, 411, 412, and 417 records?

1. Do these IFCID records generate and display at 120-second intervals following the change?

2. Is there a configuration or alternative method to continue collecting and displaying these trace records at 1-minute intervals despite the STATIME_DDF increase?

Environment

DB2 for z/OS
SYSVIEW for DB2

Resolution

Changing the DB2 zPARM STATIME_DDF only affects the volume of SMF data produced. It does not affect SYSVIEW for DB2 reporting or collection frequency. The data collection frequency within the product is controlled using the SYSPARM HISTORY-STATS-TIME for the data collectors. This allows control of collection intervals (such as 1-minute intervals) regardless of the DB2 STATIME_DDF setting.
