How to upgrade Symantec Data Center Security (DCS) agent in silent mode

Issue/Introduction

You need to perform silent DCS agent linux upgrade and would like to know command line syntax.

Environment

DCS 6.10.x

DCS 6.9.x

 

Resolution

Execute the DCS agent .bin installer package with -silent switch

./agent<OS Platform>.bin -silent

For the standard upgrade all existing settings will be preserved and no use input is required

Example syntax for DCS agent upgrade on RHEL8 

./agent64-linux-rhel8.bin -silent
