vSAN "What If analysis" metrics not populated in VMware Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

• Navigating to Inventory > Integrations > vSAN Adapter > vSAN Cluster > [Target Cluster] shows no vSAN | What If Analysis metrics.
• Custom views containing vSAN | What If Analysis metrics display blank or missing statistics.
• The What If Analysis for the vSAN cluster displays properly in the vSphere Client under vSAN Cluster > Monitor > vSAN > Capacity.
• The vSAN adapter collection status shows "OK" under Administration > Integrations in VMware Aria Operations.

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Resolution

Restart metric collection for the affected vSAN adapter instance to force a telemetry reset:

1. In VMware Aria Operations, navigate to Operations > Configurations > Inventory Management.
2. Under Adapter Instances, expand vSAN Adapter Instance and select the affected adapter instance.
3. Click "Stop Collecting" and wait for the Collection State to change to "Not Collecting".
4. Click "Start Collecting" and wait for the Collection State to return to "Collecting".
5. Allow 1–2 collection cycles (5–10 minutes) to complete, then check the target vSAN cluster inventory to confirm the vSAN | What If Analysis metrics are populating.
