Issue/Introduction

The following error message is logged in the vSphere Client message logs:

[YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.###] [ERROR] #### #### #### #### Error while adding route to edge_https com.vmware.vapi.std.errors.Unauthenticated: Unauthenticated (com.vmware.vapi.std.errors.unauthenticated) => { messages = [], data = struct => {code=16, message=}, errorType = UNAUTHENTICATED, challenge = <null> }

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0

Cause

This log entry occurs due to a temporary session error within the vSphere Client.

Resolution

No action is required. This error log can be safely ignored.

An internal fallback mechanism automatically handles the operation to ensure normal processing continues. There is no impact on vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, or virtual machine operations.
