Issue/Introduction

When configuring jobs for Integration (IG) Agents (such as Azure PowerBI, Databricks, or others) in the Automic Web Interface (AWI), dropdown menus for connection objects or job templates display "No entries found." This occurs even when the objects appear to exist in the Process Assembly perspective.  The following symptoms occur:

  • Dropdown menus in job definitions are empty for specific agent types.
  • Connection objects are visible in the client but cannot be selected within a job.
  • The issue persists despite the agent having full authorizations in Client 0.

Environment

  • Automic Automation Engine
  • Any Integration (IG) Agent utilizing template-based object creation that requires a connection object

Cause

This behavior is caused by renaming the default template objects created by the agent in Client 0. These objects (e.g., CONN.AGENT_TYPE.TEMPLATE_NAME) are flagged in the database as template types.

If a template is renamed, the system still treats the renamed object as a template. However, the AWI lookup logic for job definitions explicitly excludes objects flagged as templates. Furthermore, because the expected template name is missing, the agent may fail to correctly initialize or allow the creation of new, non-template instances.

Resolution

Do not rename or directly use template objects for job definitions. Templates should only be used to create new, unique objects. Use one of the following methods to restore the environment.

Method 1: Revert renaming

  1. Log in to Client 0 as an administrator.
  2. Locate the renamed template object.
  3. Rename the object back to the exact default name provided during the agent installation.
  4. Create a new object by right-clicking the template and selecting Duplicate or New > [Object Type] using the template as the source.

Method 2: Force template recreation (Recommended)

  1. Stop the affected Integration Agent.
  2. Log in to Client 0 as an administrator.
  3. Open the UC_ECC_PLUGINS VARA object.
  4. Remove all entries related to the specific agent (e.g., all entries starting with AZURE_POWERBI).
  5. Log out of the AWI.
  6. Start the Integration Agent. The agent will automatically recreate the default template objects in Client 0.
  7. Log back into the AWI and create new connection or job objects based on the fresh templates.
