DX Unified Infrastructure Management (Nimsoft / UIM)

Issue/Introduction

  • After a robot restart, a previously healthy inventory record shows NULL for os_type, os_name, and os_description in the CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM table.
  • In the CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM table, the nimbus_type for the affected record changes from 2 (Host/Hub) to 1 (Robot/Device).
  • The affected robot reports its dev_name as an FQDN in the CM_DEVICE table, while other robots in the same environment report as short hostnames.
  • A "Deep Clean" (clearing niscache and removing records) only resolves the issue until the next robot restart.

Environment

  • DX Unified Infrastructure Management (UIM) 23.4.x
  • Robot version 23.4.7
  • Discovery Server 23.4.x

Cause

The issue was related to the correlation problem present in CU6 / CU7

Resolution

The issue appears to be resolved in the CU8 patch. (in CU8 there were couple correlation-related fixes)

Upgrade the environment to CU8.
