Issue/Introduction
During the upgrade from older sensor versions to 4.2.x, devices may trigger a forced 60-minute restart countdown
Environment
- Carbon Black Cloud: 4.2.x
- Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions
Cause
When upgrading from legacy Carbon Black Cloud sensors (3.6 thru 4.1) to Carbon Black Cloud 4.2, ESA Platform first uninstalls the legacy sensor. If the uninstallation fails for any reason, a reboot may be required, in which case, a one-hour reboot dialog displays.
Resolution
The forced restart cannot be bypassed or altered. To avoid workflow interruption, administrators should schedule deployments during designated maintenance windows and notify end-users of the potential 60-minute restart countdown. For further assistance, please contact Technical Support.
