Issue/Introduction

• Following error received when trying to retrieve flows more than 31 days:

Cause

• The product is designed to store network flow data for a maximum of 31 days (1 month).
• This is a hardcoded limit intended to ensure system performance and manage disk space on the platform cluster.
• Data older than 31 days is automatically purged.

Resolution

To work around this issue, you can set up a Streaming Databus to retain flow data for longer than 31 days.

Prerequisites for extended flow retention (>31 days):

• The flow data will be stored on a remote server.
• You need an HTTP server configured to accept requests from the Databus. Once this endpoint is active, VCF Operations for Networks will automatically push the flow data to it.
• The remote server must be able to understand the format the Databus is sending.
