Search Domain is not set on the NSX Manager deployed from SDDC Manager

Issue/Introduction

• The Search Domain is not set on the NSX Manager deployed starting from VCF Installer.
• It is set on SDDC Manager and vCenter Server.
• The domain name is not displayed in the output of the get search-domains command on the NSX Manager.
• This occurs when using the VCF Installer deployment wizard, even if the "DNS Domain Name" was correctly specified in the General Settings.

Environment

SDDC Manager 5.x
SDDC Manager 9.x
VMware NSX

Cause

This occurs because SDDC Manager does not pass the Search Domain parameter when deploying NSX.

Resolution

Workaround:
The Search Domain can also be manually configured in NSX Manager.

1. Log in to the NSX Manager CLI with the admin user.
2. Run the following command to set the search domain:
   set search-domains <Domain Name>
3. Run the following command to verify that the settings have been applied:
   get search-domains
