Issue/Introduction

In VCF 9.1 environments, after configuring a global HTTP proxy for a Unified Cloud Proxy (typically for connectivity to the Broadcom Support Portal), the Log Assist feature may fail. The UI displays the status: "No Connectivity to Cloud Service."

The following errors are observed in /var/log/httpd-north/error_log on the Cloud Proxy appliance:

[<TIMESTAMP>] [proxy:error] [pid ######:tid ######] AH00950: send_http_connect: the remote proxy returned code is '504'
[<TIMESTAMP>] [proxy:error] [pid ######:tid ######] (#####)Partial results are valid but processing is incomplete: AH00958: https: attempt to connect to <VCF_OPERATIONS_FQDN>:443 via http CONNECT through 127.0.0.1:8443 (localhost:8443) failed

Environment

VCF 9.1.0.0100

Cause

The internal communication between the Unified Cloud Proxy and the VCF Operations cluster is incorrectly routed through the configured HTTP proxy. If the proxy does not allow such traffic, the connection is blocked or times out, resulting in the 504 error and loss of connectivity.
