Issue/Introduction

For the use of DD Statement keyword (IE: RLS=RCI) with VSAM RLS files:

is there a recommended use of DD Statement keyword (IE: RLS=RCI) with VSAM RLS files?
Or Should the RLS Keyword be omitted?

 

 

 

 

 

Environment

Easytrieve Report Generator with VSAM files

Resolution

Easyrieve Report Generator does not support RLS. 

    We do not support SHARE or RLS on the FILE statement and also no COMMIT and BACKOUT in                conjunction with VSAM files (with RLS=CRE). 

Record-level sharing (RLS) is a VSAM function, provided by DFSMS Version 1 

Release 3 and later releases, that enables VSAM data to be shared, with 

full update capability, between many applications running in many CICS 

regions.
