Tasks and Staffing workspaces: MSSQL error: 'greater than the allowable maximum row size of 8060'

Issue/Introduction

On an environment with a large number of custom attributes in objects like Tasks, Investments, Projects and an MSSQL database, you get the following log file error: Cannot create a row of size XXXX which is greater than the allowable maximum row size of 8060.
This happens when:

• Updating some tasks in the Tasks workspace
• Loading the Details panel of some tasks on the Tasks Workspace
• Updating allocation figures for some rows on the Staffing workspace > Allocations by resource module
• Loading the Details panel for some rows on the Staffing workspace > Allocations by resource module

Cause

This is caused by DE209946

Resolution

This is resolved in Clarity 16.5.0, and also in Clarity 16.4.3 Patch 2.

Workaround: 

• When you hit this issue, perform the changes at the Investment Tasks and Staff modules instead of the Tasks and Staffing workspaces
• Review the custom attributes present at the Clarity objects and delete any unnecessary, deprecated attribute that might exist
