The service at https://....:8048 is currently not accessible error occurs after certificate update in the VMware Cloud Director Availability plugin

Issue/Introduction

• After replacing the cloud certificate in VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCDA), attempts to access the plugin in VMware Cloud Director results in the following error:
  
  The service at https://....:8048 is currently not accessible.
  
  
• Accessing the VCDA portal interface works without issue.
• The certificate is currently trusted by the browser.
• In the web developer tools for the browser, errors similar to the following can be seen when attempting to access the plugin:
  
  xmlhttprequest... has been blocked by cors policy

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x
VMware Cloud Director 4.7.3.x

Cause

The browser is preventing cross site services from being loaded after changes to the certificate.

Resolution

Clear any existing browser security settings, including HSTS, for the VMware Cloud Director Availability site and retry.
