NSX Edge nodes show CRITICAL alert in UI

Issue/Introduction

• In the NSX GUI you see the following error:  Edge failed to send metrics to Aria Operations for Networks

• In the VCF Operations for Networks GUI the NSX data source has an error:  Data collection failed due to an error.  Please wait for some time

• If you SSH to the effected NSX Edge node and go to /var/log/ in the syslog.log you  may see the following error

Environment

VCF Operations for Networks 9.0.2.0

NSX Edge 9.0.2.0

Cause

The connection between the NSX Edge and the VCF Operations for Networks has been interrupted and the Edge cannot send metrics to the Collector

Resolution

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to VCF Operations for Networks and navigate to Settings > Data Sources.
2. Locate the affected NSX data source and disable it.
3. Remove the NSX data source from the system.
4. Wait 24 hours, then add the NSX data source back. The error displayed in the NSX GUI should now be cleared.
