Alarms 0x10f82 and 0x10d66 on CiscoPAGPApp models in DX NetOps Spectrum

Issue/Introduction

DX NetOps Spectrum generates alarms 0x10f82 (COMMUNICATION ATTRIBUTES DIFFER ON PORT OR APPLICATION) and 0x10d66 (PORT CONTACT LOST) for CiscoPAGPApp_* models, even when the parent device appears to have the correct SNMP community string. This issue occurs because the application models fail to inherit SNMP credential updates from the parent device.

Symptoms

• Critical alarm 0x10f82: "Attribute SNMP community string of device model differs with application or port."
• Alarm 0x10d66: "PORT CONTACT LOST" on VLAN interfaces.
• Resetting SNMPv3 Authentication or verifying strings in the OneClick UI does not clear the alarm.

Cause

A defect (DE202623) prevents CiscoPAGPApp_* models from automatically inheriting community_name (0x10024) or SNMPv3 credential updates from the parent device after the initial discovery.
The application model continues to use the credentials cached at the time of its creation, leading to a mismatch.

Resolution

 

Resolution Targeted to be fixed in a future release of DX NetOps Spectrum. 

To resolve the alarms immediately, use one of the following workarounds:

Workaround 1: Manual Attribute Update

1. Locate the affected CiscoPAGPApp_* models using the OneClick Locater.
2. Open the Attribute Editor.
3. Manually update the community_name attribute (or SNMPv3 credentials) to match the current parent device settings.
4. Apply changes and clear the alarm.

Workaround 2: Model Recreation

1. Delete the affected CiscoPAGPApp_* application models.
2. Right-click the parent device model.
3. Select Reconfiguration > Reconfigure Model.
4. Spectrum recreates the models using the current inherited credentials.
