Issue/Introduction

When creating flat fee billing rules in CloudHealth, the user interface (UI) displays a default dollar sign ($) symbol.
Customers may require billing rules to be displayed or processed in different currencies, such as the Euro (€).

Cause

  • The currency symbol ($) in the billing rule UI cannot be manually toggled or changed.
  • Customers are unsure if entering an amount will result in the correct currency conversion for their cloud environment.

Resolution

The currency symbol displayed within the Billing Rule UI is a static interface element and cannot be modified. However, the system processes the value based on the underlying cloud configuration.

  1. Static UI Symbol: The $ symbol shown in the billing rule creation screen is a default UI label and does not dictate the actual currency of the transaction.
  2. Cloud Configuration: The amount entered into the billing rule is automatically processed in the currency configured for the specific cloud account or tenant.
  3. Verification: To ensure the rule is applied correctly:
    • Enter the numeric value required for the rule.
    • Save the billing rule.
    • Review the generated billing statement or cost history for the relevant month to confirm the value is reflected in the correct local currency (e.g., €).

Note: If the billing statement has already been finalized for a specific month before a rule was added or updated, a manual rerun of the billing data may be required to reflect the changes.
