VCF Consumption CLI Download from vSphere Failing with Error "Unable to connect to the Fleet Depot Service"

Issue/Introduction

When trying to download the VCF Consumption CLI tool from the vSphere GUI, the error message "Unable to connect to the Fleet Depot Service." is observed.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 

Cause

The VCF Operations Management Services are not yet configured. This can be verified within the VCF Operations web GUI under Build > Lifecycle. If the page appears like the one below, the Management Services must be installed to ensure the vSphere hyperlink leads to a file repository that contains the download packages.

Resolution

Configure VCF Management Services on VCF Operations following prompts in VCF Operations under Build > Lifecycle. 

 

Workaround: The VCF Consumption CLI tool can be downloaded from the customer portal at support.broadcom.com.
