Deploying VCF Automation fails with error "VCF Component Stage Initialization. Status: Failed"

Issue/Introduction

During the deployment of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation, the installation fails at the subtasks "Start component installation using SDDC lifecycle service" and "Install components using SDDC lifecycle service". The workflow produces the following errors: "VCF Component Stage Initialization. Status: Failed" and "Internal error occurred. Failed to stage the VCF Component. [VCFMS-STAGE-COMPONENT-002]".

Cause

The proxy connection is SSL terminating, which is not supported.  See Settings in the Network Settings Category

Resolution

To resolve this issue we will need to delete the current proxy configured in VCF Operations. Please follow these steps to do so:

1. Connect to your VCF Operations GUI and navigate to Global Settings > Operate > Network Settings.
2. In this page delete the current configured proxy.

3. Complete the failed management tasks after deleting the proxy and retrying them. A retry of the failed task is necessary specifically from the Build > Lifecycle > Tasks view
4. Validate that the task are completed.
5. Go to Build > Lifecycle > Components and verify that Automation is added with the right version number.
