"Error" when adding storage policies in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• When attempting to add storage policies in VMware Cloud Director (VCD), the request fails in the UI.

Error message:

• Inspecting browser Developer Tools shows a 504 Gateway Timeout error on API calls fetching storage policies.
• The /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/logs/vcloud-container-info.log file reports the following log entries:

Cause

Stale inventory state and SSL handshake communication failures between VMware Cloud Director and vCenter Server prevent API requests for storage policy retrieval from completing successfully.
