AutoSys Email Notification Failure CAUAJM_E_80020 after Upgrade to R24.1.01

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading AutoSys Workload Automation from R12.1 to R24.1.01, jobs fail to send email notifications. The event_demon logs report the following error for configured notification templates:

CAUAJM_E_80020 Unable to read the template [template_name].

This occurs even when the template exists in the database and can be verified via SQL queries against the UJO_GLOBBLOB table.

Environment

• AutoSys Workload Automation R24.1.01
• Oracle Database

Cause

An issue was identified in how AutoSys versions released after 12.1 process blob content. The system may fail to correctly read the blob if it does not contain a specific trailing character sequence expected by the new processing logic.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in AE 24.2.

Workaround

If an upgrade to 24.2 is not immediately possible, perform the following steps to resolve the error for existing templates:

1. Open the email template source file.
2. Add a newline character at the end of the file.
3. Re-upload the template to the database as a glob usingupdate_glob withinjil or use WCC to udpate.
