CDM and processes probe CentOS compatibility in CU6

Issue/Introduction

In our environment, we are using CDM probe version 8.08 and processes probe version 5.03. Please confirm if the following OS versions are compatible with these probes:

• CentOS 7.6 (Maipo)
  
  
• CentOS 6.9 (Santiago)

Although we have found that older versions of the cdm and processes probe run without issue we need to confirm.

Cause

• CentOS probe compatibility question

Resolution

• DX UIM 23.4 CU7 (and later) robots require glibc v2.22 or higher.

• CentOS 6 and CentOS 7 come with different default versions of the GNU C Library (glibc): CentOS 6 uses glibc 2.12, and CentOS 7 uses glibc 2.17.

• CentOS 6 is locked to GLIBC 2.12, and CentOS 7 is locked to GLIBC 2.17. The OS / system environment cannot be safely updated/changed to a higher glibc.
  
  
• DX UIM 23.4 robot components support glibc 2.22 so they are incompatible with standard CentOS 6 / 7 environments.
