Local version of WCC (24.2.00) is different than version in the db (12.1.01)

Issue/Introduction

When starting the Web UI / Workload Control Center (WCC) service, WCC fails to start and shuts down immediately.

The following error is observed in the log files:

Environment

 

• Product: AutoSys Workload Automation / Workload Control Center (WCC)

• Releases Involved: WCC 24.2.00, WCC DB 12.1.01

 

Cause

This error occurs when the local WCC binary application version does not match the schema version recorded in the connected WCC database.

In this scenario, the WCC database was inadvertently restored from an incorrect database instance (a version 12.1.01 DB backup) rather than the corresponding 24.2.00 DB instance.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

1. Verify Database Configuration: Check the WCC database configuration settings to ensure WCC is pointing to the intended database instance and schema.

2. Restore Correct Backup: Restore the WCC database from a valid backup corresponding to the current installed WCC release version (24.2.00).

3. Restart WCC: Once the correct database schema is in place, start the WCC application service.
