Unable to download or manually deploy Log Management via OVA in VCF 9.1

Issue/Introduction

• The Log Management OVA package is unavailable for download from the Broadcom Support Portal.
• Manual deployment of Log Management via an OVA template is not supported in a VCF 9.1 environment.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1

Cause

In VCF 9.1, VMware Aria Operations for Logs is rebranded as Log Management and integrated as a containerized core service within the VCF Management Services Platform (VMSP). The traditional virtual machine (OVA) deployment model is no longer used.

Resolution

This behavior is by design. Both VVF 9.1 and VCF 9.1 deploy VMSP by design. Deploy Log Management using the standard VMSP deployment workflow.

1. Log in to the VCF Operations user interface at https://<vcf_operations_fqdn> as a user assigned the Administrator role.
2. Navigate to
   Build

   Lifecycle

   VCF Management
   .
3. On the Components tab, select
   Add component

   Log management
    and configure the parameters for the deployment.
4. Click 
   Next
   to proceed to the Summary page for final review before deployment.
5. Click 
   Finish
   to start the deployment.
