Issue/Introduction

User experience internal server errors when attempting to access the Kubernetes section under instances in the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation client. Additionally, project deletions fail. The UI throws an Internal Server Error, and the logs display the following stack trace:

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "com.vmware.tango.common.gateway.dto.Project.getId()" because "project" is null

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation 9.0.2

Cause

An internal server error is triggered due to a missing project that still has orphaned linked resources in the database. Resources in the dep_supervisor_resource table are still linked to a project_id that no longer exists, resulting in a NullPointerException during data retrieval and blocking project deletion workflows.

Resolution

Resolution involves interacting with DB cluster, for further assistance on this situation contact Broadcom Support team.
