Issue/Introduction

we observe MD5 protocol stop working and if and device and application side we change SNMP protocol to SHA issue resolving. we are able to receive required trap.

we want to understand what reason behind changing SNMP protocol from md5 to SHA

Environment

UIM 23.4.7

snmptd 3.60

 

Resolution

Follow the below step:-

= Deactivate the snmptd probe

= Open the snmptrapd.conf file and configured the md5 and DES protocols are correctly.

Note:-

The probe does not support 3DES authentication due to a limitation in the SNMP library.
