Issue/Introduction

Problem:

Executing jobs which calls SYNCSORT and uses the ICETOOL program SUBSET operator with operand KEEP, HEADER/FIRST is not sorting properly. No abend is seen but you must review the sort results closely to discover the problem. How can we resolve this? We are using Syncsort release 1.4.

Resolution:

Syncsort created APAR(SY73410) for release 1.4
 
Resolves problem with using SUBSET keyword and results not correct.

Please contact Syncsort Technical Support for any Syncsort issues when utilizing CA Compress 5.5 or above. To circumvent current problem you can utilize the following DD statement to bypass the Sycnsort step:
