Orphaned Supervisor-managed VMs removal in vCenter Server 9.1 & VCF Automation 9.1

Issue/Introduction

• Virtual Machines will appear as Orphaned in the vCenter & VCF Automation.
• "Remove from Inventory" option is grayed out in the vCenter.
• On the VCF Automation UI, deleted VM's will show as orphaned.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.x

Cause

Upon deleting the virtual machine directly from the ESXi host, this issue may occur.

Resolution

1. Login to the vCenter server
2. Delete the Virtual machine from the vCenter
3. Login to the VCF Automation.
4. Perform inventory sync & Data collection.

Performing the above steps will clear the stale entry of deleted virtual machines in the vCenter & VCF Automation.
