IP Address Discovery Binding Fails for VMs on NSX VLAN-Backed Segments with Non-Default Industrial vSwitch Profile Attached

Issue/Introduction
VMware NSX virtual machines connected to VLAN-backed segments fail to discover IP address bindings in VMware Cloud Foundation NSX 9.x environments. Despite having VMware Tools actively running on the guest operating systems and a custom IP Discovery Profile attached with VMware Tools Discovery enabled, NSX is unable to learn and populate the VM IP addresses.

Cause
A custom Industrial vSwitch (IvS) Segment Profile is attached to the affected VLAN-backed segments instead of the default segment profile. Industrial vSwitch Segment Profiles are specialized configurations designed specifically for Enhanced Data Path (EDP) Dedicated mode switches to facilitate PROFINET communication in industrial Ethernet networks. Applying an industrial segment profile to standard (non-industrial) switch configurations represents an architectural mismatch that interferes with control plane mechanisms, preventing the IP Discovery Profile from successfully polling and populating IP addresses via VMware Tools.
Resolution
Navigate to the affected VLAN-backed segments within the NSX Manager UI.
Replace the custom Industrial vSwitch (IvS) Segment Profile on the affected VLAN segments with the default industrial vSwitch profile (default industrial vSwitch profile has Profinet protocol disabled)
Maintain the attached custom or default IP Discovery Profile configuration
Check across the NSX segments discovered/realized bindings to confirm that NSX successfully detects and populates the IP address bindings
