After updating permissions for Jaspersoft repository users unable to run Adhoc Reports.

Issue/Introduction

As part of the implementation of the new Reporting Solution, we updated the Jaspersoft folder permissions to Read Only. Our intention was to allow users continued access to existing ad hoc views and reports while preventing them from modifying existing ad hoc view and saving it or creating new reports.
However, we observed that users are unable to access the existing ad hoc views. When attempting to open an ad hoc view, they receive an "Access Denied" message.
We have adjusted permissions for the following roles:

ROLE_USER
ROLE_ADHOC_DESIGNER

Could you please advise what we might be missing in our configuration?

Environment

Clarity 16.4.2

Cause

Caused by: [CIRCULAR REFERENCE: java.lang.Exception: You do not have permission to write to the folder /temp. Choose another folder or contact your system administrator.]

Resolution

During execution of Adhoc Views/Reports system temporarily writing and then deleting files to Temp folder. The ROLE_USER permission on the Temp folder should be set to Administer.
