After integrating VMware Live Site Recovery (SRM) with VMware Aria Automation via the Automation Orchestrator plug-in, SRM sites are missing from the Orchestrator inventory or selection views. Symptoms include:
Add SRM Site workflow completes successfully, but the site never appears in the inventory. The Orchestrator plug-in must be version-compatible with the LSR server; one specific plug-in build carries a known defect; and SRM certificate replacement invalidates already-registered sites (a documented caveat in the plug-in 9.0 release notes).
| What happened | LSR | Plug-in | Root cause | Action | Details |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Upgraded LSR to 9.0.5; existing sites vanished | 9.0.5 | 9.0.1 or older | Version incompatibility between upgraded server and legacy plug-in | Upgrade the plug-in to 9.0.4: delete the current plug-in, install the new one | KB 429720 |
Fresh integration; Add SRM Site succeeds but the site never appears | 9.0.2 | 9.0.2 build 24837754 | Known defect in that plug-in build | Install hot-patch build 25292365 (attached to the KB), per the plug-in install documentation | KB 440343 |
| Replaced the SRM certificate; site vanished | 9.0.x | any | Certificate change invalidates the registered site | In Orchestrator Client → Library → SRM → Configuration, run: Remove Local Sites → Configure Local Sites (accept the new certificate) → Login Remote Sites | KB 393838 |
In all cases, verify plug-in ↔ server compatibility in the interoperability matrix before upgrading either side, and schedule the matching plug-in upgrade in the same change window as any LSR upgrade.
