Issue/Introduction
Executing a RESTORE and received the following error:
DB002352 C-4M353: Area Seg.Areaname required area lock mode not available
DB002504 C-4M355: Backup/Restore incomplete
How can this be resolved?

IDMS - all supported releases
Cause
Restoring by area requires locks on areas.
Resolution
The RESTORE is trying to lock the area, but the area lock is already on.
IDMS/DB locks an area before restoring it. If the area is already locked, it is not restored and the RESTORE operation will terminate with an error. No more areas are restored.
The area may be locked by a CV that is active. If so, should be varied offline from the CV before Restoring.
It is also possible that a local mode application abended without releasing an area lock. In this case, use the UNLOCK statement to unlock the area.
