[VMC] Pre-requisites for deleting a VMware Cloud on AWS SDDC

Issue/Introduction

This document outlines the pre-requisites and steps to be performed before and during the deletion of a VMware Cloud on AWS SDDC.

Environment

VMware Cloud on AWS

Resolution

• You will need to be logged in to VMware Cloud Console with an account having the VMware Cloud on AWS service role: Administrator in order to have the ability to delete an SDDC.
• In case the SDDC is part of an SDDC group, delete the SDDC group by following the instructions in the document: Remove an SDDC Group (Note: If there are other SDDCs associated with the SDDC Group, you can instead just remove the SDDC from the SDDC Group Members list)
  • If the SDDC group is being deleted, make sure that features like vCenter Linking, Direct Connect attachment, External VPC associations and External TGW associations of the SDDC group are removed.
• After the dissociation with the SDDC Group, you can delete the SDDC by following the instructions in the document: Delete an SDDC
