After deploying or onboarding a VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment, both a VCF instance and a standalone vCenter instance may appear duplicated within VCF Operations.
VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1
VCF Operations 9.1
This issue occurs if the vCenter account was registered in VCF Operations using its IP address prior to the VCF deployment or upgrade.
During VCF configuration, vCenter is registered using its Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). If the existing vCenter was previously registered by IP address, VCF Operations identifies it as a separate adapter, resulting in duplicate instances.
Note: Duplication does not occur if the vCenter was registered using its FQDN before the VCF configuration.
Remove the duplicate standalone vCenter account.
In VCF Operations, navigate to Administration > Integrations.
Locate the standalone vCenter account.
Note: Ensure you select the standalone vCenter and not the VMware Cloud Foundation integration.
Click the three-dots menu icon next to the standalone vCenter account and select Delete.
In the pop-up window, uncheck the option to "Delete related objects". This ensures that only the account integration itself is removed.
Proceed with the deletion and confirm that the duplicate entry is removed from the Inventory view.
