Issue/Introduction

When opening VIP Access Desktop on an Apple Silicon-based Mac the following message may be displayed.

Environment

VIP Access Desktop 1.0.7 and earlier

macOS on Apple Silicon-based Macs

Cause

VIP Access Desktop 1.0.7 and earlier run on M-series (Apple Silicon) Macs using Rosetta 2. Apple is removing support for Intel starting with macOS 28.

Resolution

Upgrade to VIP Access Desktop 1.0.8 for macOS. This is a universal binary which supports Intel and Apple Silicon architectures.

VIP Access Desktop 1.0.8 will be released on July 31, 2026 and will be available at https://vip.symantec.com.
