Duplicate VCF Operations for Networks adapter after upgrade to VCF 9.1

Issue/Introduction

• Post-upgrade to VCF Operations 9.1, the adapter instance for VCF Operations for Networks appears duplicated in VCF Operations > Integrations.
• A FQDN-based and an IP-based adapter instance is present in the VCF Operations environment.
• The FQDN-based adapter instance remains in stopped status while the newly auto-created IP-based instance is collecting.
• The FQDN-based adapter instance keeps returning to stopped status when attempting to start it.

Environment

• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations 9.1
• VCF Operations for Networks

Cause

Automated migration logic implemented in VCF Operations 9.1 replaces FQDN configurations with direct IP address configurations for VCF Operations for Networks adapters to ensure network persistence and compatibility.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, remove the FQDN-based adapter instance by:

1. Log into the VCF Operations cluster interface.
2. Navigate to Integrations > Accounts.
3. Locate the legacy FQDN-based VCF Operations for Networks adapter instance (currently in a Stopped state).
4. Select the stopped FQDN instance and execute a Delete action to remove it permanently.
5. Verify that the new IP-based adapter instance remains active and continues collecting data normally.
