Error: VROPSVIDBCONFIG0009 occurs during VCF 9.1 convergence

Issue/Introduction

• Convergence from VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.0 to 9.1 version fails during the deployment process. The VCF Installer UI reports a failure in the VSP component installation task.

Environment

 VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x

Cause

This issue occurs because an IP address is configured instead of the required FQDN in the vCenter or VCF adapter settings under VCF Operations Integrations. As a result, VCF Operations cannot retrieve the necessary SDDC Manager resources, causing both the component registration and the overall convergence process to fail.

Resolution

1. Log in to the VCF Operations UI using the admin credentials.
2. Navigate to Administration > Integrations
3. Check the configured adapters and update them as applicable:
   1. If the vCenter adapter is present, edit it and update the vCenter FQDN.
   2. If the VCF adapter is present, edit it and update the SDDC Manager FQDN.
4. Retry the deployment task from the VCF installer.
