Issue/Introduction

An ESXi host encounters a PSOD with #GP when executing the xrstor64 instruction.

Environment

VMware ESXi 8.0.3

Cause

Memory corruption in the World_Handle data structure caused by an invalid DMA transfer overwriting memory regions with non-kernel data patterns.

Resolution

Contact the hardware vendor to investigate further on this issue.

Workaround: Reboot the host and verify system stability.
