Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

• You are a member of a project in VCF Automation 9.0.x.
• You cannot see or execute Day-2 actions (such as Power On/Off or Delete) on deployments created by other project members.
• You have been assigned the Project User or Project Auditor role.

VCF Automation 9.0.x

Cause

This behavior is by design within the VCF Automation modern tenancy model. The Project User role is a low-privilege tier engineered for individual ownership. It restricts deployment management to the specific identity that requested the resource. Standard project membership does not grant cross-user modification rights at this privilege level.

Resolution

To manage deployments created by other team members within the same project, you must elevate your role assignment.

1. Log in to VCF Automation as an Administrator.
2. Navigate to the project settings.
3. Change the target user's role to one of the following high-privilege tiers:
   • Project Advanced User
   • Project Administrator

These roles grant the administrative scope required to override individual ownership boundaries.
